Memory Care

A Heartfelt & Holistic Approach

A person needing Memory Care still wants to be seen and valued as a unique individual. Experience our person-centered approach to Memory Care—designed to provide specialized care, comfort, and safety to people living with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or other memory issues.

What is Memory Care?

Memory Care communities are designed to meet the needs of residents who live with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or other memory issues, providing special care and support. While every individual is unique, some signs that you should begin thinking about a Memory Care program are changes in behavior, confusion, disorientation that impairs ability to function normally, and declining physical health.

Do you have a family member in need of Memory Care?

You are not alone. Caring for an individual with memory loss, Alzheimer’s, and other forms of dementia can have a tremendous impact on every aspect of your family’s life. Learning to adjust as relationship roles change, managing your own wellbeing, becoming educated about available resources and stages of the disease, and being realistic about what you can control all takes energy and time.

At a Generations Memory Care community, it’s our goal to assist you in maintaining a rich relationship with your loved one while providing an environment that is intentionally designed to help them thrive. Should the day arrive when care at home is no longer beneficial to you and your loved one, please know we are here to support you as you seek out new options.

Our communities provide personalized care, engaging environments, and an exceptional team of professionals that nurture the body, mind, and spirit, enable free choice, and encourage independence in a safe, secure and loving setting. At our core, we are a family caring for families, and are here for yours when and if you need us.

What Can I Expect for My Loved One In Memory Care?

A day in the life of a Generations Memory Care resident includes care and programming guided by the Positive Approach® from Dementia Specialist Teepa Snow. We focus on being a partner of your loved one who has dementia; understanding the brain changes they are experiencing, facilitating meaningful activities based on their unique life story, preferences and interests, finding practical ways to engage and communicate with them, and working with their abilities that are preserved, rather than skills that have been lost.

The Generations approach to Memory Care also includes:

  • Purposely designed rooms and open concept spaces: To offer a calming, safe, and home-like environment.
  • Meaningful and flexible days: We provide structured yet individual-led programming that preserves the independence of those living with dementia.
  • Time out-of-doors: Fresh air is a daily routine, with outdoor spaces and walking paths.
  • Inclusive support services and amenities: All aspects of your loved one’s days are taken care of.
