What is Included in Assisted Living?

Assisted living is a type of senior housing that provides assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, cooking, and eating. Additionally, Generations Assisted Living communities offer a variety of services and amenities, including help with meal preparation, housecleaning, medication management, social activities, and more. While there are many different assisted living communities, the majority of these communities offer similar services and amenities. Our communities are comprised of several different types of units. We offer four types of services: Independent Living, Assisted Living, Post Acute Care, and Memory Care.

What services are offered in assisted living?

Assisted living is a type of senior care that provides assistance with basic activities of daily living. This could include helping with bathing, cooking, eating, or getting in and out of bed. An assisted living community may also have a social room where residents can meet other people, or a dining room where they can eat meals with family and friends. Our Assisted living communities provide a level of care that allows for the continued independence of our residents. We are proud to offer a variety of services to meet the needs of our residents.

Generations Assisted Living communities have a staff of trained professionals who can provide medical care, including help with bathing, dressing, and administering prescribed medications.  They may also provide help with grocery shopping, housecleaning, doing social activities or taking classes. Assisted living communities are usually not designed to provide all of the care a person needs. It is important to consider the level of care you need and the level of care that your family can provide. If you or your family members are unable to provide the necessary care, assisted living may not be the right option for you.

What amenities are available in assisted living?

Assisted living offers a number of amenities that can make your senior living experience more comfortable and enjoyable. Some of these amenities include: swimming pools, fitness centers, libraries, bingo, card games, and more. The amenities offered at Generations can vary based on the community and location. Some communities offer basic amenities, while others offer a wide variety of amenities, including luxury amenities like movie theaters and beauty parlors. While not all of our assisted living communities offer 24/7 care, they do provide a variety of other services to make living for an older person more comfortable.

What types of units are in assisted living?

Assisted living is a type of senior housing that provides services to help seniors live more independently. This can include help with daily tasks like bathing, cooking, and eating, as well as services that help seniors maintain their homes and communities, such as transportation and social services.
At Generations, we offer four types of services: Independent Living, Assisted Living, Post Acute Care, and Memory Care. In an independent living community, residents are able to live on their own and take care of most of their own needs. However, they may receive assistance with certain tasks, such as bathing or getting in and out of bed. In a memory care community, residents are more likely to need assistance with daily tasks. These may include eating, taking a bath or shower, or getting dressed. Post acute care is for older people recovering from medical trauma.  

Who provides care in assisted living?

Assisted living is a form of senior care in which a staff member, usually a nurse or aide, helps residents with basic activities such as bathing, eating, and getting dressed. An assisted living community may also provide social activities and counseling. In some cases, the staff member will help with more complex tasks, such as driving or cooking.
